Banyan Tree is an international hospitality brand that manages and develops resorts, hotels, and spas in Asia, America, Africa, and the Middle east.
The project
Covid-19 caused devastating damages globally. The hospitality and tourism industry especially suffered as the pandemic continues on. Banyan Tree Holdings, which owns over 90 hotels around the world faced the same issues.
Banyan tree chose us to develop digital experiences and various sites for them to solve the challenges brought on by the pandemic.
The hotel chain asked us to create original digital solutions that will help their customers receive useful information, learn about their services, and prepare for the end of lockdowns.
Banyan Tree’s brand has been around for two decades and there were design and branding rules we had to maintain. The main challenge was to create a relaxed, peaceful experience in exotic locations.
By collaborating and directly communicating with the Banyan Tree's design and marketing team, we began to plan and design the digital experience and find solutions.
The most important goal of this website is for it to become a powerful marketing tool. It was important for us to build a stable, fast site and meet the high expectations of the company.
Creating a memorable digital experience requires more than a good development and design team. One of the most complex areas in the UIUX world today is creativity on how to interact with visitors, and help them explore and be exposed to content.
In recent years, the hospitality and tourism industry dove into the world of technology. Competition is growing as new boutique hotels are emerging. The hotel experience no longer starts when customers enter the door, it starts from the second the customers visit the website.
For this project, we decided to use Webflow for several reasons. First, Webflow allows us to have complete design freedom from the development stage to the advanced animation stage. In addition, the site is multi-language (English and Chinese), so it was important to produce a convenient content management system for the company's marketing team.
It was important to preserve the integrity of advanced animations and interactions on the website for desktop and also mobile users. In the end, we decided to make versions for animations that were completely customizable.
By collaborating and communicating daily with the company staff, we were able to create a meaningful digital experience for the brand's customers. The website has received great acclaim from the industry and we are honored to have the opportunity to work with one of the largest hotel chains in Asia.
After the success of this project, we were chosen to lead more projects for the Banyan Tree Group. We were able to solve many more challenges for them during the Covid-19 pandemic and we were happy to earn another satisfied customer.
